Hooody to all my Calico Junior Deputies,
This month is Calico Days at Calico Ghost Town, and Sheriff Ricochet and I received a great big honor. I was inducted into the Calico Hall of Fame with Sheriff Ricochet. We were called up during the ceremony and had to stand there, holding the picture that will be hung up in the hall of fame, while Lonesome George told everyone all about us and what we’ve been doing with you guys. I was so nervous, all the lights, with the sound system blasting, and all those people watching, but it was such a honor. Sheriff Ricochet kept saying not to be nervous and just picture everyone in just their underwear. When I did that I wasn’t so nervous anymore, and then I started laughing. If you ever have to give a speech at school, and you are nervous, try it, it works.
It looks like the Gunfighters at Calico have their insurance now, and you know what that means, they will start having those great big gunfights again, with all the volunteers, just in time for Calico Days.
Sheriff Ricochet has been staying up late working on school work. I watch him stay up so late and I worry about him. He just tells me that it’s alright, because it won’t last long. He says it’s something called Finals. See, he has been going to school to learn how to run the program better. He says that he can’t be a sheriff forever; there will be a time when he will have to hang up his guns and do something else. He says that he wants to be prepared with a good education for the future. I don’t understand what he is talking about, but he’s the one that makes the calls around here.
Miss Kitty has been bugging me about telling you guys about her. She says that I’m not being fair, and I’m picking on her. Well the way I look at it if she would quit having that attitude she throws in my face all the time maybe I would like her more. All she has to do is be a little nicer, and try to get along. Maybe there is some hope for her, and maybe I’ll cut her a little slack. It will be a challenge, but I’ll give it a try. If you guys have any ideas let me know.
Well that’s about it for this letter. I have to get ready for work, and pack my and Sheriff Ricochets lunch. This week I’ll be sending out the Birthday cards to all of you with a birthday, and I signed everyone of them front and back. You’ll see my paw print on the envelope. Nobody has sent me any pictures for my book yet, so get out those paints and get busy. I need some pictures of me, Sheriff Ricochet, and Calico.
Remember to be good, obey your oath, and I’ll se you all at Calico.
