Hooowdy to all my friends, This is Deputy Dog Hoot and I want to welcome you to the Junior Deputies newsletter. I have been lying around the house getting fat, because Sheriff Ricochet and I didn’t get re-elected as Sheriff of Calico Ghost Town. That’s beside the point, because were back! If you know any other Calico Junior Deputies, let them know that we are posting my letters on this web site.
Well I’m so excited! Sheriff Ricochet has been busy putting cowboy events together. He just (in March) had the Barstow Mojave Trail Days. Maybe you could come next year; I’m sure Sheriff Ricochet would love to see you guys, and I love it when you guy’s pet me, and throw my stick for me. Anyway back to the Barstow Mojave Trail Days; Sheriff Ricochet told me that he was doing this all for free. Free parking, free admission, and lots of games and thing to do for kids. There were cowboys, Indians, storytellers, blacksmiths, and my friends “The Law Dogs N Ladies” (The Earps) came and entertained the event. I got to see all my cowboy friends, and it’s been so long, I loved it.
It got real hot around here (The Mojave Desert) lately. It looks like summer is here. I asked Sheriff Ricochet why all the rabbits are out and he said that it is spring, and this is the time that all the little critters come out and start there families. That means that there is going to be little baby critters around. There so cute! And when they grow up they play tag with me, but they never want to be it. So I just chase them, and I’m always it.
Wow! It feels good to write again. I miss you guys. Sheriff Ricochet says that the new name he’s using for the Calico Junior Deputies is now just the Junior Deputies. The Sons of the Badlands (SOBs) is the name of the new company, so that’s what he’s calling the new program. He’s been trying to start up a new way to get you guys together again. Since he and I don’t work at Calico any more, he can’t use there name. Do you know how important you guys are to this Great Nation. After all; you guys are the future, the ones that will be running things in a few years. So with that said; you guys better start thinking about what you would change when you take over.
O.K. I’ve talked enough. I better let you guys go about your business. So I’ll say goodbye and I’ll write you next month, and Sheriff Ricochet will post it right here on this web page.
