Hooooowdy to all my Junior Deputies, its Deputy Dog Hoot.
Happy Independence Day. I had to ask Sheriff Ricochet what that means and he told me that in the year 1776 the Americas won their freedom from the British on that day, and that is why we shoot off the fireworks in the sky. I like the forth of July because of all the bar-b-ques, I get lots of bones to chew on.
It sure is hot up at Calico. It got to 108 degrees yesterday, and all I want to do is stay under the cooler. Miss Kitty doesn’t like the heat ether, because she won’t even run from me when I try to chase her. You would think that she would be happy because this is mouse season, and she can chase all the mice like she likes to do, but she just lays there and sleeps.
Sheriff Ricochet had to go to town today, because he needed to get some Calico bucks printed so he could send out the Birthday cards to all the Junior Deputies that are having birthdays this month. Sheriff Ricochet likes me to help when he is sending the cards out because I get to lick the envelopes because I have lots of slobber, and that’s allot of licking, I have to lick about 200 envelopes each month, and Sheriff Ricochet says that there will be more each month because we are signing up more and more Deputies every day.
Sheriff Ricochet just got a new batch of wanted posters, but he didn’t have time to print them so he could send them to all the Calico Junior Deputies, but he said he will get them done for the next newsletter. Some of these wanted outlaws look scary, and they say that they are pretty mean. But we will find them and tell our Mom and Dad so they can find them and send them to jail. So don’t be scared.
Sheriff Ricochet told me that maybe we will celebrate my birthday with all the Junior Deputy’s (that’s you). The Calico Junior Deputy Round up was in April last year (Palm Sunday weekend), but the office said that we needed to change it, so I would love to have it on my birthday weekend. To see all ya, and get to have a bar b que and get all the scraps, I LOVE IT. I will let you know when it is as soon as I find out for sure.
Well I better go now, Miss Kitty is looking for some mischief to get into, so I will sneak around behind her and see what she is doing, and when she least expects it I will jump out and scare her. Ha, Ha, Ha, I love it.
See ya soon, Deputy Dog Hoot
